Mid-Week

Its Wednesday Evening.... Nebraska is playing againt Michigan in the Alamo Bowl.... Tomorrow is my last day at work this week... Friday-- Dad Scott and I are going to the Music City Bowl here in Nashville... I have gone to the last few Music City Bowls here in town... Just fun to get to see a college football bowl game. I have only been to one other College football game in the last few years besides the annual Music City Bowl... Vanderbilt vs Kentucky earlier this year...

Well thats enough for today... I won a poker tourney so that was good and am about to go to bed. Night All.

Christmas Update

Greetings! Its been a little while since I have left any notes here. Its been crazy at work over the last 2 months. The 4th Quarter was really hectic and with my double-duties of running www.athlonsports.com/store as well... My time has been little if any. Xmas went over fairly well. I spent the early part of Xmas eve with Scott and Dad at Dads house watching NFL football. Scott buckled to the pressure and let me open gift early... It was an electronic Suduko game... Very addicting...Then I proceded over to Jeanette's parents home. We just kind of chilled out a little while then left for Herberts sister's house in Nashville. We had a big dinner and talked awhile/exchanged gifts etc. Ya know same ole same old... Then I went back to her parents house to crash that night. I forgot to mention that all day my back felt like I had a knife stuck into the back of it. I was getting worried that something was really wrong with it. I was having problems doing ANYTHING. (its better now)...

Due to the back I slept like a baby once I got down Xmas eve....We all got up about 730am or so and continued to open gifts we had all given each other. Jeanette's brother had packages all over the place for him to open... was quite amusing. I got a few things as well... but they were much needed items...including a new blanket... and some new pillows.... I really needed some pillows... I also got a Gift Card to Rafferty's (its right by work) and a Texas Hold-em handheld electronic game... I'm currently wearing it out...After we finished unwrapping we ate some breakfast... Im not quite sure what it was exactly... but had potatoes and sausage n cheese... Some sort of casserole... I didn't care cause it was delicious and I ate my fair portion of it. After eating I layed back down cause my back was hurting beyond belief... and slept about 3 hours before waking and realizing I was supossed to be over at dads by now... So i gatered myself together and headed over to his house.

Scott, Dad and I opened up all the gifts under the Xmas tree and then watched a movie. Speaking of movies thats what I got from my Dad.... The West Wing/SouthPark/Fraggle Rock... lots of DVDs. Scott popped in Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase... gosh we laughed our tails off quoting the movie... including "driving a dump truck through a nitroglycerin plant".... Please dont ask... haha... Then we ate hamburgers and fries and moved back to the sofa to watch DA Bears play da packers... Of course my Bears won and clinched a playoff spot... so that was a sweet Xmas present for me as well... Finally I took off towards home and called it a day... a long day.... With my back still killing me... I crashed on the sofa and tried to relax... and finally the back pain eased and I fell asleep. Was a really nice 2 days... it was tough without Jeanette, but we made it through and on to live another day and another year. ~~~Jeff~~~

Almost the Weekend

Well.. Its almost the weekend finally... We got a Titans Home game against the Raiders on Sunday... Jenny and Travis are coming up to go the game and we are going to the Predators game on Saturday night too.. So will be an action packed weekend. Its turned a little chilly this week.. and yes I finally turned on the heat this year! So its been nice and 58 degrees in my house all week... I figure if its in the 40's outside... I could at least keep my house a few degrees warmer than that... but I did have a little ice forming on my lip when I got up one morning... So i turned it up a little warmer for a bit.

There hasn't been too much excitement yet this week. Nashville is in mourning with the Titans doing so bad to start off the year... but are optimisitc with the Predators winning 8 of their first 9 games... and of course the Vols are majorly sucking ass... So we dont even go there... but that doesnt really matter I dont care much for the Vols...

Well its almost time to get in a poker game for the evening... so I think Ill go play a little... I got a really bad beat with a full house 6's full of aces the other night... yikes I was so mad about that... but o well.. thats how cards go!

Greetings!!! Things are going good here. Dad has closed on his new house and with the help of Jenny/Travis and Scott he got all put togther last weekend. Then unfortunately we went to the Titans game on Sunday and saw them give it up late in the game... Was really a terrible colapse there at the end... But they play Arizona this week so thats at least a possible win.

Work is really picking up going into the 4th quarter of the year with all the XMAS shopping and all. Currently I have a little cold thats bugging me... I hate it when i get like this and tomorrow supposed to almost hit 90 degrees. VERY uncharacteristic of this time of year and it might set a record. O well... Glad I still have the air conditioner on.

Been Awhile

Its been awhile since writing... Nothing much has been happening.... Just working and enjoying football starting up... Theres football 4 days a week now..... so been exciting... hopefully the Titans will do better than they did last weekend.... but o well... Latest Survival

Well Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana Yesterday and made its way into Nashville Late last night... obviously its not a Hurricane anymore... but wow it dropped some rain and whipped the wind around like crazy. Around my place no excitement really... The tree line stayed intact... and even the trashcan didnt blow over in the driveway... but... there was lots of "debris" blown around and the rocking chair and plants on the porch got toppled over. There was no interuption in power for me... but some 6000+ in Nashville lost power...

The pictures from NewOrleans... and Alabama/Mississippi are incredible. It seems that global warming might have taken its toll on the earths weather movements. Jenny and Travis lost power for a short time in Birmingham... but was back on quickly thereafter.

I was listening to the radio and a guy called in and said the Barometer was at ZERO. Then they said that was because the EYE OF THE HURRICANE had hit nashville... The eye is complete calm... and im sure if actually in a hurricane would so very eerie... Well so far... everything has held together here. Hope everyone else is enjoying their sunshine... :)

Survival!

Just survived a weekend with Jenny, Travis, and Dixie visiting. We went shopping most of the day on Saturday then played a few tourneys of Texas Hold-Em on Saturday night... I finished 3rd in the first and 1st in the second. Jenny got 2nd place both times... Travis thinks he knows what Jenny is doing and seems she constantly has his number. Tis quite funny to watch. They left early on Sunday morning and are back in Birmingham... That was about all the excitement that went on.

Do you Remember? Its been almost 20 years ago.... The Chicago Bears... and the hilarious Super Bowl Shuffle. "We are the Bears shufflin' crew.... shufflin' on down doing it for you!" By far the funniest thing every released! All the players dancing and singing... and even to a catchy song. I still can't belive that got the late great Walter Payton AKA Sweetness to do his song and dance too... If you haven't heard it you need to find it.

What an awesome Nascar Race... Tony Stewart finally won at Indy.... His "home track"--- It was a great celebration and awesome for the whole team to climb the fence and they even brought out a ladder. He finally won it.. and is not the leader in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.

Sunday

Well... It was nice to turn on the tube this afternoon and see the Nascar race in high definition. Wow its just an unbelievable picture. I can't wait until all stations are mandated to prodcast in high-def. If you haven't watched high def... you are so missing out. The colors are so bright and picture is so clear. Go get you a high def tv!!!!

Here is a picture from the trip to Florida back in May. Its a shot of me and Faith. She doesn't look as red as I do. I got some good sun touring Disney and all the parks down there. Not to mention them all running me ragged, but it was a super duper blast!!!

Saturday

Well its almost the end of Saturday. Its been a very rough day. I didn't sleep much at all. I have had this killer headache all day. It finally lighted up around 9pm. Maybe, because I was watching Nascar, but I dont see how loud racecars could make a headache GO AWAY. Nothing much exciting happening today. I have done some laundry and pretty much been a couch potato besides that. That headache pretty much shot any energy I had out of me. I hope I dont start have migrain headaches.

This morning was the first NFL game of the year... all be it in Tokyo... but I did watch most of it. Its great that football season is starting up. I plan to try to go to a few HighSchool football games this year as well as Titan games. I think the Titans team is very intriguing this season. There are almost 50 players with under 2 years of experience trying to make the team right now. Hard to believe, but just 6 days til the Titans first pre-season game. Well thats it catch u later.

Done Traveling....

Well I am done traveling for quite awhile it seems... I had enough of Kansas and everywhere else to last me now for awhile. I went to another arcade game auction yesterday... but thankfully to everyone that always has something negative to say about my games... I didnt buy anything...

Nothing else really exciting going on.... I been playing poker online alot... and got my new DVR and High Def for my tube.. so thats been exciting!! Thats all... Check ya later...

Been Too Long

Wow. Been a little while since I wrote here. Some things have been happening around here and I been gone so haven't wrote anything. I went to Kansas to see Amy, Mike, Jacob, Faith, Hope, Shelby, Jeanne, Jordan and Kevin... Gosh that was a mouthful.... Well... That for sure was an experience. Those kids are nuts.... but hey they are just kids.. and we all know Amy is just as bad. But hey shes my cuz so I gotta love her anyways...despite her being nuts.... (i would say on crack... but don't want her to think i really mean it)....

I saw Shelby too... and was great to see her and all her family too... We went swimming to the movies... and even babysat them wacko kids. Amy and Mike have to have some good stuff to be able to handle them all the time. I spent 7 days there. We went to a Tbones baseball game and of course I got to watch "Le Tour de France" the whole time i was there as well... That goes on to my next latest fetish....

The Tour de France... or as I call it... Tour de Lance... I have been watching it with a passion the last 3 weeks. Its so interesting to watch the strategy and challenges that come with riding a bike across France... and some of Spain too.... (you would know that if you watched it)... Tomorrow is the last day of the 3 week long trek... (Trek is the manufacturer of Lance's bike) They ride into Paris and the Champs-Elysees. Looks like Lance will win yet another Tour.

Today I finally got a Digital Video Recorder and a few High Definition Program channels. So now I can record all kinds of channels whenever I want... At least it will give me something to keep me occupied. Well thats all for today....

New Update

Hello kiddos! Sorry its been awhile since the latest update. Thanks to a call from Sister... I nowremember to update this!! Not too much excitement going on around here... Just been working alot and resting on the weekends!! I went with Scott and saw Star Wars Episode III again in the theater. Gosh it was just as good the 2nd time.

Another movie/comedy Scott and I watched here last weekend was the Chappelle Show on DVD... Its quite bad and rough humor, but we laughed hysterically watching it. Thats about all the excitement around here.. Hope all is doing well!! TA TA FOR NOW!!

Star Wars

Well, as you probably know Star Wars came out on Thursday. I waited in line about 6 hours and saw it at midnight. It was totally awesome. It tied and filled in so many loose ends and saw Anakin's turn to the dark side and become Darth Vader. It was fun to be in line with all the Star Wars fans and the some of the local fan club here Nashville After Darth.

The movie met all my expectations, such that I went again today with Scott. Scott went with me at midnight too on Thursday (after he finally showed up).... The long last 2 weeks have taken a toll on my physically, as I got a nasty cold. It seems to be lightening up some finally.

More Florida Info

Was fun being with all the family... The little kiddos are even fun to be around. I went to all the great places. We went to Chef Mickeys and got to see MickeyMouse and Minnie Mouse. Also, saw Chip N Dale and Goofy and Donald Duck there. Had a great meal including some good potatoes. We had a great time there... I even ate some from the kids buffet there. On Monday we went to Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios. I dared it and went on some roller coasters. I was worried that it might affect my heart... And it did some.. I had a few chest pains and light headedness, but I was ok. I just kept on trucking. We went to all the rest of the park and had a great time. Tuesday we went to Magic Kingdom... It was really fun there as well. We got to ride Space Mountain and the train around the park and evensaw a parade. And we saw some fireworks too. It was really hot...but I drank lots of lemonade to keep myself hydrated.

Wednesday We went to Animal Kingdom and got to see bunches of animals and stuff. It was a fun day. Thursday we went to MGM Studios and got to do tons of cool stuff...They even had a Star Wars ride and a Star Wars Store... I bought lots of cool stuff at the Star Wars store. it was yet another fun day!!! Friday we went to Universal Studios. I had been there before but theyhad a few new things since I was last there. It was so awesome. by far the best park and I even rode the Mummy Ride 4 times.Then on Saturday we got Amy and the girls and they went to Universal with us again!!! and I rode the Mummy again!!! Was a blast...And of course we swam in the evenings and went to some gift shops and ate alot of food!!! and i pooped and peed when I needed to... We also got to see princesses at princess dinners and breakfasts.... so lotsof fun ... I think Faith really had a great time... and Hopey had agreat time jumping on me like her trampoline!!!

Hello. Today its Hump Day Wednesday! Ill be glad when this week is over. Its the last week of the month and work is going bonkers!! Im up to my @#@ in jerseys and baseballs. We had a signing with Bo Jackson last week and his stuff is all over too!! I get a little vacation this weekend getting to go to Jenny and Travis' and hang... Going to play some cards and see my first Nascar Race so should be exciting. According to Jenny the weather is going to be good so I cant be more excited! Then the next weekend I fly to DisneyWorld!! So lots of excitement coming up! And hey- Im going to a free dinner tonite with Dad and Scott to Dad's Neighbors so fun fun fun!!! Well ta-ta for now!

Hello again. Its been a little while since writing. Not too much to report. My allergies have been driving me nuts lately, but besides that--- nothing else to exciting. Just trying to get the house in order, get plans together for the trip to Florida and Alabama coming up.

Terrific Tuesday

Well, its another day. Illinois choked down the stretch and North Carolina won the National Championship. It was funny talking to Travis during the game... his satellite has a 3 second delay... so I had to wait to yell or scream at the TV so not to ruin it for him. I finally got my car back this morning from Dad. It was getting serviced and finally got the thing fixed right, so I can drive it again now. Thanks to Dad and Dad-in-law Herb for going to get it for me yesterday. Not much other excitement --- see you on the next post

Sunday is Funday

Trying to get stuff unpacked still. There is lots and lots to do, so I'm just taking my time. Of course, I watched the Nascar Race all afternoon today. Its tough seeing all of Jeanette's clothes, but I have to sift through those to find my own too. Not sure what Im going to do for dinner tonite. I might just make an omelette. You can't go wrong with that. Dad came out to drop a few items off and fixed the bed too.

Poker Time

Greetings. I just got home from a late night of poker. I went with my nephew Sal and father-in-law Herb. We grilled some pork steaks out and fried some fish/hushpuppies/ and potatoes. Fresh fish is great, especially fresh caught out of the pond. It was an interesting poker night. I lost a few bucks until the last hand and hit 2 pair to win $12... Playing quarter poker... thats fairly hard to do. We dont play for the money, just for the fun and company. Its late now, so Im going to retire to the bed. Take care

First day on the BLOG!!!

Well, Welcome... This is the first day of my new blog. Things sure have been quite hectic and tough lately. Many family and friends have sent many prayers and well wishes to me and my family. Its help me so much to deal and cope with this extremely difficult time. I have tried to carry on the best I can. Its not easy, but time heals all wounds, at least thats how the saying is I think. Will see if thats the case.
